Parents create ‘visual bucket list’ for daughter who’s going blind

While Lizzy may ultimately lose her sight and hearing, scientists say she will not be “left alone in the dark.” Early intervention is vital and the support from her parents and community are key, says Dr. Lotfi Merabet, a professor of ophthalmology at Harvard Medical School. “Some 20-30 years from now she will likely remember what her mother looked like and what her father looked like and what a sunrise looked like.
