Solomon Howard, an 8-year-old from South Carolina, had his Visual Bucket List wish granted in the summer of 2025. Solomon and his sister suffer from Bardet-Biedl syndrome, which causes vision loss as well as affects multiple body systems. Alongside his mom, dad, and sister, Solomon explored some of the most iconic and meaningful sites the Big Apple has to offer. Their journey began with a private tour of the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, where they stood beneath the towering symbol of freedom and walked in the footsteps of millions who once passed through America’s historic immigration gateway. From there, they set out on a powerful and emotional visit to the 9/11 Memorial, where they took time to reflect and honor the lives lost—a moment that left a lasting impact on the entire family. To soak in even more of the city’s sights and sounds, the family climbed aboard the Hop-On Hop-Off bus tour, which took them through bustling neighborhoods, past famous landmarks, and offered a fun and flexible way to discover the vibrant energy of New York City. It was an unforgettable adventure filled with history, fun, and unforgettable family memories.
