A Roman Adventure

Wishes

Shane, a 13-year-old from Ohio, had his Visual Bucket List wish granted in the summer of 2026. Shane lives with Bardet-Biedl syndrome, a rare genetic condition that is slowly taking his vision and affects multiple body systems. His dream was to travel to Rome, Italy, and experience the rich history, culture, and beauty of the Eternal City while he still could.

Shane and his family enjoyed an unforgettable journey filled with incredible experiences. They explored Rome on a private golf cart tour, taking in the city’s iconic landmarks and breathtaking architecture. They stepped back in time with a private tour of the Colosseum and even trained like ancient warriors during Gladiator School. They also participated in a private Italian cooking class where they learned to prepare authentic cuisine before enjoying an unforgettable traditional Italian dinner together.

This wish held special meaning for the Visual Bucket List Foundation, as Rome is the city where the foundation’s story first began ten years earlier. Helping Shane experience his dream destination brought the mission full circle while creating priceless memories that he and his family will cherish for a lifetime.
